13th Berlin Biennale | Germany
SAHA supports 13th Berlin Biennale within the scope of Larissa Araz’s new project titled And through those hills and plains by most forgot, And by these eyes not seen, for evermore between 14 June – 14 September 2025.
The encounter with Berlin’s urban foxes – the wild spirit within the city, the creative radicalism it represents and the volatility of its nature – serves as a metaphor for Zasha Colah’s curatorial concept. Known as a trickster and shape-shifter, the Fox transcends cultures, geographies, borders and ecosystems, inspiring countless stories that blur the line between reality and imagination. Larissa Araz’s work is on view at Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart.
“Addressing the ,family of ,foxes that regularly visits the Hamburger Bahnhof ,garden, Larissa Araz envisages a long and diffused chalk mural. She depicts a haunting Anatolian and Mesopotamian landscape where the natural habitat is in danger. This is the land of ,the ,fox, who moves across large distances unhindered by political geography as a ,fugitive avoiding humans. Mirroring the moving multitudes of ,people who have been displaced by the drawing up of ,borders, Araz asks us to visit, through the perspective of ,foxes, a historic landscape of ,profound connectedness between humans and non-humans.“
