SAHA Talks | Eser Epözdemir & Yelta Köm

SAHA Talks | Eser Epözdemir &amp, Yelta Köm

“So you’re thirsty, too”

How do two cities talk to each other, how do they meet? Is communication measured and understood only by the forms we can see and define? Is it water that holds together the lands we live on, the lands we divide on paper with imaginary lines called borders? Doesn’t water combine all cities, towns, and villages of the world from beneath the ground and through the air? Just as all the cities with a coastline in our imagination are connected, would the water unite those without a sea from the underground?

Having contemplated the water that enfolds certain cities and instigates new corporal experiences for a while now, Eser Epözdemir and Yelta Köm will explore what the water binds through the examples of Istanbul and Berlin where they are based respectively, and discuss that there are numerous ways of coming together, of crossing paths, and of approximating to one another in a performative conversation, which will take place on January 18th, at 4 pm.&nbsp,

As per their “lens:/double/multiple/blur/lens” perspective, Eser and Yelta will start an experimental, performative, accessible conversation that is hosted by SAHA Studio, where Eser has been in residency since October 2021.

This experiment, planned to last an hour, will be broadcast via Zoom in a “fictional” studio. The translation in Turkish Sign Language will also be made simultaneously.
